- Ok, I'm going to try to make this clear...
-
- Is there a way to amplify the Amiga's sound output directly so that you can
- attach a couple of speakers without having to go through an amplifying
- souce (i.e. ghetto blaster)? Right now I have a couple of multimedia
- speakers connected to my Amiga (they have an AM/FM radio built-in and
- volume control), but I also have my CD player/reader connected to them.
- I want to be able to play CD's and output the sound through the speakers,
- but also at the same time hear sounds (such as a timer going off) coming
- from my Amiga. The problem is that the CD-ROM seems to override the
- Amiga signal. I have a stereo Y-connector that connects both the Amiga
- and the CD-ROM to the speakers at the same time. When I unplug the
- CD-ROM from the 'Y' conection, the Amiga sound output is fine. When I
- disconnect the Amiga from the 'Y' connection, the CD-ROM sounds fine, so
- I know each one works. However, if I connect them both, and try to play
- a sound from the Amiga (even without a CD playing) the sound is VERY
- faint. However, when I play a CD with this connection, it plays fine.
- I'm thinking that somehow the CD player/reader is drawing the Amiga's
- signal away from the speakers? Even when I turn the CD-ROM off the
- Amiga's sound doesn't increase. Is there a way to fix this so that both
- are at the same sound level when plugged into the speakers at the same
- time?
-
- I know this explanation is lengthy, but I was trying to be thorough.
-
- Please e-mail me with any help. Thanks.
